Admissions and How to Apply

Sixth Form Open Evening Thursday 12 November 2026 5.30pm – 7.30pm

Come along, meet our fabulous staff and wonderful students.

On the evening there will be:

  • A Sixth Form presentation at 6pm from the Key Stage 5 pastoral team with key information regarding Sixth Form life, curriculum and pathways.
  • Visit the Sixth Form subject stalls, see the work produced, the type of topics you will be studying and more.
  • Complete the online application form. 

16 November – 18 December 2026
Year 11 1:1 pathways interviews with a member of the Key Stage 5 pastoral team or Senior Leadership Team.
 
January 2027
External students will be invited for an interview and tour of the school.
 
29 January 2027
Sixth Form taster day for internal students
Students choose to participate in five Sixth Form subject taster lessons.
 
31 March 2027 TBC

  • Deadline for applications (late applications may also be considered)  

April 2027

  • Letter home detailing enrolment process and provisional offer of place.

August 2027

  • 19 August collect GCSE results.  
  • 19 August Enrol at St Joseph’s. (9.00 am – 1.00 pm)

Applying for Sixth Form
 

Online applications for Sixth Form will open October 2026.


Students will be offered a place at St. Joseph’s Sixth Form if they meet the following results/ criteria:

  • At least five 9 – 4 grades, including mathematics and English Language (there is opportunities to resit Maths and English).
  • A minimum of a Merit in the subject they want to study in Vocational Subjects.

Completing your Application Form

Choose your subjects by ticking the three subjects you wish from the list. You can select four option subjects if you are predicted to get 8/9s in your GCSEs.  Specific subjects have their own criteria, for example you will need a grade 7 to take maths at A Level.   Please research your intended subject on the key stage 5 subject page.

GCSE-Resits

If you do not achieve a grade 4 in Maths or English, you will be required to resit these subjects with timetabled support.
