What interests and skills should I have?

  • Comfortable with calculations, graphs and interpreting data.
  • Enjoys experiments, collecting data and solving real-world problems.

How will I be assessed?

You’ll be externally assessed in Units 1, 2 and 3 via written exams focusing on scientific theory, application and problem-solving. Two units are internally assessed through lab reports, written assignments, presentations and practical tasks, emphasising research, analysis and communication. Assessments take place at set points during both Year 12 and Year 13.

What careers can this lead to?

Graduates progress to radiography, midwifery, paramedical science, ecology and forensics. Roles include environmental scientist, research assistant and biotechnologist.
