Every year the South Tyneside School Sports Network runs a leadership academy for students in year 9. Each school selects 4 students who show skills in leadership and communication in sport to be a part of the programme. This year Gracie, Chloe, Aaron and Jack were selected against strong competition to represent our school and they have done a brilliant job to date.
Recently they were tasked with running a sports club on a lunchtime. The multi sport club has proven extremely popular with over 30 pupils attending each week. Volleyball was the best attended so far, allowing over 50 students to engage in physical activity during the school day. This linked well with the assembly they delivered on the importance of the government initiative of 60 active minutes which they presented to the whole of year 7 last week. An excellent effort from the leaders and a great example of what a positive role model looks like.
