The game went back and forth in the first half, both teams couldn’t get control of the game, but St Joseph’s created the best chances when Joe forced their keeper into 3 great saves.
Second half was St Joseph’s for the first 10 minutes where Ethan scored a penalty and Riley scored a fantastic free kick. St Mary’s pulled a goal back to make the final 10 minutes nerve racking, but Joe sealed the win with composed finish into the bottom corner to put us into the Semi Finals 🥶🧊
⭐Oliver – A player who was playing out of position, ran his socks off for 50 mins, caused the defence a-lot of problems.
Both St Joseph’s teams played exceptionally well through the group stages and found themselves up against each other in the semifinals. Nothing could split the two St Joseph’s teams during regulation time therefore the match was decided

by penalties which saw St Joseph’s B progress to the final. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for team B as they were beaten in the final by a strong Whitburn team.
Well done to all involved!
We had 2 teams in the competition, and both were in line for the top spot going into the final day of fixtures. Our Y9 team took the bronze medal, with our Y8 team taking the title and with it, qualification for the Tyne & Wear final. Well done to everyone involved.

Each session focused on different aspects of emotional expression, student led choreography, set routines, and techniques for emotional release through dance. The St. Joseph’s Dance leaders demonstrated excellent leadership from planning to delivery, creating an inclusive environment that encouraged participation and openness. They taught students how to use dance as a coping strategy, offering tools like deep breathing with movement to calm the mind and energetic routines to release tension.
The success of the workshops highlighted the power of dance as a tool for emotional well-being. St. Joseph’s Dance leaders not only showcased strong leadership skills but also made a lasting impact on the students by promoting emotional health through movement. The PE department are very proud of their commitment to the sessions and professionalism towards the younger students.

St Joseph’s managed to come away with the double gold winning both competitions. The U13 team played some great stuff in the morning to take the title with 5 wins out of 5. A really tight competition in the afternoon saw both St Joseph’s and Boldon with 5 wins out of 6, St Joseph’s just taking the title on head to head record.
Well done to all involved.
