Mr. Mather and the Law Department were once again delighted to welcome into school our friends Claire Pearce, Paralegal Apprenticeship Manager, and Katie McWilliams, Talent Acquisition and HR Co-Ordinator, from the number one magic circle law firm, Clifford Chance.
Over the past few years, we have developed an excellent relationship and a number of our former students work at the firm. Two of those, Sophie Perry and Aaron Whyte, came back to see us with Claire and Katie having been successful in gaining a paralegal apprenticeship at Clifford Chance last year.
Claire began by explaining the work of Clifford Chance and especially the Newcastle office. She went on to tell us about the work of paralegals and the requirements of the paralegal apprenticeship before Sophie and Aaron described some of the work they have been carrying out since September and what it’s like to work for such a prestigious firm. Katie told us all that the process for appointing the apprentices is a supportive one and went through the different stages.
Mr. Mather is really proud of both Sophie and Aaron for their accomplishments having studied Law at St Joseph’s from 2022-2024.
We are, as always, extremely grateful to Claire and Katie for visiting school and we look forward to working together again in the future and seeing them, and Sophie and Aaron, at the next Insight Day in the summer.
