Today, students from 7X2 celebrated their first class Mass with Fr. Andrew Shaw in our school chapel. Students had picked the theme of friendship to mark the start of their spiritual journey as a community of friends in St. Joseph’s.
They chose hymns on this theme, scripture readings, wrote bidding prayers and created a class banner to represent each of them having been called to be friends with one another at St. Joseph’s. Fr. Shaw is offering Mass for our students every Friday in our school chapel and classes will have the opportunity to prepare and celebrate Mass on rotation. Students read beautifully and with amazing confidence, student leaders led the liturgical dance for our opening hymn ‘My Lighthouse’ which has become our contemporary worship anthem as a school and took up the offertory with dedication and commitment.
We are truly proud of you all and grateful to the support of our fantastic parish clergy who support us in ensuring Christ is at the centre of everything we do here at sunny St. Joseph’s.
God bless
