At sunny St. Joseph’s we believe that every student should have regular opportunities to plan and lead their own Collective Worship services. As such, this half-term our amazing Hilda House have been planning, organising and celebrating their very own Celebrations of the Word during tutor time.
This week 12H3 led theirs on the theme of ‘love’ focusing upon love for others, love for family, love for friends and love for our own spiritual well-being. They included a beautiful array of prayers, Bible readings, karaoke musical praise, personal reflections from both students and their form tutor and a fantastic rendition of prayer snowballs on the theme of love. 12H1 chose to lead their Celebration of the Word on the theme of ‘under pressure’ and promoting good mental health and well-being ahead of our exams and coursework. Students listened to Queen’s ‘under pressure;’, lead beautiful scripture readings, prayers and shared an immensely powerful testimony of how one member of the form had dealt with tremendous pressure when faced with saving the life of a total stranger. What we love about these Celebrations of the Word is the amazing variety of styles, approaches and testimonies given. Each form works hard to make it their own, have fun and reflect upon our faith.
Hilda House has done an amazing job, and we are tremendously proud of each and every one of them. God bless and have a wonderful, restful and spiritually uplifting half-term.
